You don't need tons of add-ons just to play anymore. You could easily get away with using other add-ons to accomplish the couple of features you want to implement in ElvUI. I personally enjoyed my 6.5 hours of designing my UI in ElvUI. Maybe I'm just a masochist.To get this affect on all: Unitframes -> General -> Colors. To get this affect on specific unitframes: Unitframes -> Choose Individual or Group -> Choose the unitframe you want to change -> Select Health -> Class Color Overide. Look into the masque addon. The masque addon allows you to add various borders around your action bars. All the little addons are the borders themselves. I suggest finding one that looks closer to the default ones. Something like Masque: Neuron might work for you, if you go to the masque settings and change the color to be a bit lighter.
